TL;DR
AI Engineer (.NET / Azure AI) (AI/Data Science): Building production AI integrations, orchestration services, backend APIs, and generative AI pipelines with an accent on .NET/C#, Azure OpenAI, transformer models, and RAG search patterns. Focus on deploying AI models, developing transcription and extraction workflows, and solving complex problems with agentic coding tools.
Location: Fully remote from Portugal; candidates must live in Portugal and be legally qualified to live and work there.
Salary: €27,785–€43,450 gross per year

What you will do
- Build orchestration services and backend APIs with .NET and C#.
- Integrate Azure OpenAI, OpenAI, ChatGPT-class models, and generative AI capabilities.
- Develop summarization, extraction, filtering, speech-to-text, and transcription pipelines.
- Apply RAG, AI search patterns, transformer architectures, and machine learning principles.
- Deploy and integrate AI models into production APIs, pipelines, and backend systems.
- Collaborate with engineering and product development teams on multidisciplinary projects.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in artificial intelligence, machine learning, or related software engineering roles.
- Academic background in computer science, data science, artificial intelligence, or a related field.
- Strong professional experience with .NET/C#, including .NET Core or .NET 6/8.
- Hands-on experience with Azure OpenAI, OpenAI, generative AI, RAG, and AI search patterns.
- Experience deploying AI models into production environments and working with engineering and product teams.
- Fluent English and legal eligibility to live and work in Portugal.
Nice to have
- Experience with Whisper.NET or Azure Cognitive Services and Speech.
- Proficiency with Cursor IDE and GitHub Copilot for development, refactoring, and debugging.
- Experience with Python, Django, JavaScript frameworks, Node, SQL, Docker, Ansible, or NoSQL databases.
