Head of Risk and Governance (Insurance)

Location: Based in Liverpool, UK with hybrid working

What you will do

• Develop and mature the group-wide governance and risk management framework across all business functions.
• Lead risk strategy, risk assessments, risk registers, incident management, risk appetite, and issue resolution.
• Work with the COO and operational resilience team to maintain, test, and improve resilience controls and report outcomes to the COO and Board.
• Own the financial crime policy and oversee compliance with FCA systems and controls requirements related to money laundering.
• Lead third-party, supplier, outsourced activity, and sub-broker risk management, including due diligence and regulatory governance.
• Provide quarterly risk, governance, operational resilience, and management information reporting to the Board, executive team, and Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee.

Requirements

• Significant risk experience within the insurance industry.
• Compliance experience and comprehensive knowledge of FCA regulations.
• Experience leading risk programmes, teams, projects, risk assessments, and control testing.
• Ability to interpret and advise on legal and regulatory requirements across business functions.
• Strong reporting, presentation, communication, stakeholder management, and project management skills.
• Applicants must have at least one year remaining on a Graduate or Post-Study Work visa; visa sponsorship is not available.
