Infusion Nurse (Oncology)

What you will do

• Assess and monitor oncology patients, assist physicians with examinations and procedures, and maintain efficient patient flow.
• Perform venipuncture, access implanted ports, manage central venous access devices, and administer infusions.
• Administer chemotherapy, biotherapy, and investigational compounds according to clinical trial protocols and applicable regulations.
• Perform protocol-required procedures, including vital signs, ECGs, routine laboratory collection, and study-specific sample collection.
• Educate patients and families, assess adherence to study procedures, manage symptoms, and communicate care needs to physicians and research staff.
• Document clinical care, study procedures, medication lists, infusion reactions, and other patient information.

Requirements

• Current BLS and ACLS certification, or certification obtained within 90 days of employment.
• Current Registered Nursing license in the state where the role is based.
• Knowledge of standard oncology care practices and experience administering chemotherapy or biotherapy.
• IV and venous access device management skills.
• Ability to follow clinical trial protocols, OSHA requirements, patient confidentiality standards, and evidence-based safety practices.

Nice to have

• Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification.
• Experience mentoring or precepting less experienced nurses.
