Postdoctoral Research Associate (AI/Drone Phenomics)

Location: College Station, Texas, United States; field work, travel, weekend, and after-hours work may be required.

What you will do

• Coordinate and lead drone phenomics and quantitative genetics research within a corn breeding program.
• Collect, process, and analyze UAV data and connect phenomic, genomic, and weather datasets.
• Develop and apply data extraction and analysis algorithms for biological discovery and breeding predictions.
• Analyze research data, prepare publications, grants, presentations, and technical progress reports.
• Oversee drone equipment, data storage and processing, student pilots, and research computing resources.
• Support student mentoring, collaboration, field work, and corn planting, pollination, harvesting, and processing.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in genetics, soil and crop sciences, computer science, remote sensing, or a related field.
• Experience submitting and publishing manuscripts.
• Drone license required or must be obtained soon after hire.
• Strong knowledge of drone data analysis, statistical analysis, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and deep learning.
• Ability to manage, organize, and back up large volumes of image and tabular data.
• Excellent English verbal and written communication skills required.
