Senior Manager, Accounting Advisory - Nonprofit Industry Clients (Nonprofit Accounting)

Location: Remote anywhere in the United States; up to 10% travel required

Salary: $142,000–$195,000 base pay annually, with potential eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus

What you will do

• Lead CFO-level advisory engagements and provide strategic financial and operational guidance to nonprofit clients.
• Build trusted relationships with nonprofit executives and Boards, delivering tailored financial solutions.
• Oversee multiple client teams and ensure accurate, timely completion of accounting engagements.
• Analyze financial performance and KPIs, providing recommendations to improve profitability and cash flow.
• Develop budgets and forecasts while supporting financial planning and long-term sustainability.
• Drive technology-enabled process improvements, collaborate across service teams, and mentor staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a Master’s degree is a plus.
• At least 8 years of relevant public accounting or industry accounting experience.
• Deep knowledge of nonprofit accounting, endowments, donor contributions, revenue recognition, grant compliance, Uniform Guidance, audit requirements, and Form 990 processes.
• Experience with federally funded programs or Community Action Agencies, including programs such as Head Start, CSBG, and LIHEAP.
• Experience advising nonprofit executive leadership and Boards, leading organizational change, and managing remote teams.
• CPA designation, outsourced accounting or external audit experience, and proficiency with QuickBooks Online or Sage Intacct are preferred.
