Fullstack Software Engineer I (React/Node)

Location: UK Remote; working pattern: full time, 9am–5.30pm

Salary: £36.5k–£46.5k per annum

What you will do

• Design and build RESTful Node APIs, React frontends, and React Native mobile applications.
• Release working software regularly using trunk-based development, automated testing, and infrastructure-as-code principles.
• Develop features that address performance, resilience, observability, maintainability, security, and accessibility.
• Collaborate across disciplines to understand user needs and commercial and operational goals.
• Develop software engineering, continuous integration, application design, and architecture practices through pair and mob programming.
• Shadow the out-of-hours on-call response rota.

Requirements

• Enthusiasm for full-stack software engineering and strong problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of JavaScript or TypeScript and database technologies such as PostgreSQL.
• Experience delivering a web or native mobile application.
• Understanding of maintainable, well-tested code, agile processes, data-informed development, and reliability.
• Ability to take ownership, contribute to technical decisions, and communicate effectively across disciplines.
• Ability to work remotely from the UK during 9am–5.30pm working hours.

Nice to have

• Experience with React or React Native application development.
• Experience with trunk-based development, automated testing, and infrastructure as code.
• Awareness of application design and architecture patterns.
• Experience in a cloud-native environment such as GCP or AWS with Kubernetes.
