Platform Engineer (AI)

Location: Hybrid in San Francisco, Denver, or New York, with remote work options in the United States

Salary: $115,000–$280,000 per year plus equity

What you will do

• Build and operate platform infrastructure across PostgreSQL, GCP, data systems, developer tooling, security foundations, and internal AI workflows.
• Own platform projects from discovery through production rollout, improving developer velocity, reliability, scalability, and internal tooling.
• Plan and execute production database and GCP changes with safe migrations, validation, observability, and rollback practices.
• Build shared infrastructure for agentic systems, including configuration interfaces, evaluation systems, agent-loop harnesses, sandboxes, and operational tooling.
• Partner with engineering and non-engineering platform customers to identify friction, prioritize opportunities, and improve adoption.
• Drive infrastructure standards for quality, security, data handling, operational risk, and scalability.

Requirements

• Production experience building and operating platform or infrastructure systems.
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and GCP.
• Experience planning and running migrations at scale with validation, observability, and rollback strategies.
• Ability to build interfaces and product surfaces that make infrastructure useful to internal teams.
• Security-minded approach to access, data handling, failure modes, and operational risk.
• Strong collaboration skills with engineering and non-engineering platform users.

Nice to have

• Experience building infrastructure for agentic systems, including evaluations, agent loops, harnesses, or sandboxes.
• Application or infrastructure security experience.
• Experience building financial products or systems requiring auditability and data integrity.
