Release Manager (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid role based in Matosinhos, Porto, Portugal, with a minimum of 3 office days per week; additional office presence is required during onboarding and when business needs require it.

Salary: €23,948–€34,171 gross per year for 40 hours per week, including meal allowance.

What you will do

• Own and coordinate end-to-end software, infrastructure, platform, and security releases across systems, teams, and suppliers.
• Manage the release calendar and align delivery with business priorities, project roadmaps, and operational readiness.
• Lead critical deployment windows, Friday evening releases, and Microsoft security patch deployments.
• Coordinate Product, Engineering, Operations, Architecture, Security, Program Management, and external partners.
• Monitor dependencies, risks, issues, environments, and release progress while ensuring timely escalation and communication.
• Drive compliance, governance, release planning, release reporting, deployment automation, and continuous improvement across the SDLC.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
• At least 5 years of experience in Release Management, Change Management, IT Delivery, Project Management, or a similar coordination role.
• Experience coordinating releases across complex IT environments with multiple teams, systems, stakeholders, and suppliers.
• Understanding of software development, testing, infrastructure, release management, and operational processes.
• Strong planning, organizational, risk management, stakeholder management, communication, and facilitation skills.
• Excellent verbal and written English; flexibility to coordinate releases outside standard office hours as part of a shared rotation.

Nice to have

• Technical background and the ability to collaborate with Product Teams, Platform Teams, and suppliers.
• Knowledge of Agile, Lean, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Experience in financial services, fintech, or other regulated industries.
