TL;DR
Principal Data Scientist (Real World Evidence): Developing real-world evidence studies and data-driven insights from healthcare data to support clinical programs, regulatory submissions, and neuroscience development with an accent on study design, statistical programming, and regulatory-quality evidence generation. Focus on analyzing heterogeneous real-world data, applying graph neural networks and machine learning, and integrating bioinformatics results to improve patient outcomes and clinical decision-making.
Location: Hybrid work model in Madrid or Barcelona, Spain
Base pay: €61,800–€106,260 annually

What you will do
- Develop a portfolio of real-world evidence projects using real-world data to generate insights for pipeline assets.
- Design and execute end-to-end RWE studies, including research questions, data feasibility, study design, analysis, programming, and interpretation.
- Create study protocols, statistical analysis plans, and statistical programming deliverables.
- Analyze and interpret healthcare data for internal and external stakeholders, supporting clinical development and regulatory submissions.
- Apply emerging scientific and technological methods, including machine learning, deep learning, forecasting, and graph-based methods.
- Communicate technical methods and results to multidisciplinary teams and partners while ensuring scientific and regulatory quality.
Requirements
- Ph.D. or master’s degree in a quantitative field such as biostatistics, AI data science, or bioinformatics.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience with a Ph.D. or 4 years with a master’s degree in biopharma, RWE consulting, or a related healthcare industry.
- Experience designing and executing studies using claims data, electronic health records, registries, or other real-world healthcare data.
- Expert proficiency in R or Python, plus experience with SPARQL and Cypher.
- Hands-on experience with data engineering, data analysis, predictive technologies, graph neural networks, and graph machine learning.
- Bioinformatics experience interpreting biological or disease-related results, including pathway or functional enrichment analysis.
Nice to have
- Deep expertise in neuroscience, neurodegenerative or neuropsychiatric diseases, ophthalmology, clinical development, and trial design.
- Experience with multi-omics, proteomic studies, biobank data, causal drivers, and clinical relevance analysis.
- Experience integrating multimodal data for disease understanding and patient subtyping.
