Site Reliability Engineer / Release Management & Automation Specialist

Location: Waterloo, Ontario, Canada; hybrid work with flexibility to work from the office and virtually

Salary: CAD 90,000–140,000 per year, plus eligible bonus and incentive plans

What you will do

• Sustain enterprise release orchestration operations, integrations, automation, governance, and technical support.
• Design, develop, and support automation for agent deployments, pipelines, release processes, and orchestration workflows.
• Support vendor evaluations, proof-of-concepts, and the transition to a future enterprise release management platform.
• Develop automation playbooks and documentation, promote reusable solutions, and coach teams on automation tools and practices.
• Ensure automations comply with security and change management directives while resolving incidents with an SRE mindset.
• Identify new automation opportunities and contribute to automation policies, standards, and processes.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in automation development, specifically with Ansible.
• Administration experience with Kubernetes/OpenShift and Linux/Unix systems.
• Programming and automation experience with Python, JavaScript, and Ansible.
• Hands-on experience with Broadcom Continuous Delivery Director or another enterprise release orchestration platform such as Harness.
• Experience with Java, Apache Tomcat, JAX-RS, Maven, Gradle, containers, REST API integration, networking, firewalls, proxies, and connectivity troubleshooting.
• Experience with monitoring and log ingestion tools, preferably Splunk, plus a strong focus on reliability, automation, and operational excellence.

Nice to have

• CKA or CKS certification.
• Experience with AI-assisted operations, AI-driven automation, Model Context Protocol, and AI agent integration patterns.
