Homepage & News Editor (Business News)

Location: Hybrid role based in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey, with a minimum of three office days per week. Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States is required.

Salary: USD 90,000–135,000 per year.

What you will do

• Curate and manage CNBC’s homepage, making real-time decisions about story placement, prioritization, and presentation.
• Identify the most important coverage, including breaking news, analysis, exclusive reporting, live events, and enterprise journalism.
• Write and edit accurate, engaging headlines and package stories with photos, graphics, videos, interviews, and data visualizations.
• Edit breaking news and adjust homepage coverage as stories develop.
• Collaborate with reporters, digital editors, television producers, video teams, social editors, data visualization journalists, and photo editors.
• Develop new approaches to showcase CNBC’s multiplatform journalism while maintaining high editorial standards.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in a fast-paced digital newsroom.
• Excellent news judgment and the ability to make quick editorial decisions under deadline pressure.
• Exceptional headline-writing, copy-editing, communication, and organizational skills.
• Experience with written stories, live television, digital video, vertical video, data visualizations, and photography.
• Strong visual sensibility and understanding of digital journalism presentation.
• Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States and availability for a hybrid schedule with at least three office days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience editing or producing a major news homepage.
• Passion for business news, markets, economics, and current events.
• Experience with content-management systems, homepage publishing tools, audience analytics, or live breaking-news environments.
• Understanding of CNBC’s audience and editorial voice.
