Senior Backend Engineer (Kotlin/Java)

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, review, and maintain scalable backend code for Revolt Admin and hirify.global's operational platforms.
• Deliver improvements that increase the reliability and scalability of the fast-charging network.
• Build and operate microservices, including monitoring, alerting, and incident analysis.
• Use AI-augmented engineering, agentic workflows, and AI tooling where they improve the development lifecycle.
• Own work from discovery through post-production and collaborate with frontend engineers, product, design, engineering teams, and internal stakeholders.
• Improve engineering practices and mentor other engineers as a technical sparring partner.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional backend engineering experience, with strong hands-on Kotlin and/or Java experience.
• Experience building and operating production microservices with REST APIs, cloud platforms, and relational databases.
• Familiarity with event-driven architectures and Kafka, plus hands-on Elasticsearch experience.
• Strong focus on reliability, maintainability, operational impact, ownership, and pragmatic decision-making.
• Clear communication, cross-team collaboration, mentoring ability, and comfort with ambiguity.
• Fluent English and willingness to use AI tooling with sound engineering judgment.

Nice to have

• Experience in e-mobility, energy, charging infrastructure, or another operationally complex domain.
• Experience building software for internal, network, or field operations.
• Technical leadership experience for a project or domain.
