Full Stack Developer (Java/Vue)

Location: Barcelona, Spain; hybrid work model with a Barcelona office

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java backend systems and public and internal REST APIs.
• Apply Hexagonal Architecture and build modular, maintainable, and testable microservices.
• Design high-availability data models and queries across relational databases and Couchbase for high-transaction workloads.
• Monitor and improve system performance using Datadog, metrics, logging, tracing, and technical-debt reduction.
• Write unit, integration, automated, and end-to-end tests while contributing to code reviews and CI/CD workflows.
• Implement occasional Vue.js and Nuxt frontend features with AI coding assistants and collaborate across the stack.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in Java backend development and large-scale cloud solutions, particularly AWS.
• Strong experience with RESTful APIs, microservices, relational and non-relational databases, including Couchbase.
• Expertise in automated testing, TDD, CI/CD pipelines, Maven or Gradle, and Git-based workflows.
• Working knowledge of Vue.js sufficient to build or modify UI features with AI assistance.
• Experience with observability practices and tools such as Datadog, including metrics, logs, and traces.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; strong debugging skills in asynchronous and multithreaded environments.

Nice to have

• Experience with Nuxt beyond core Vue.
• Advanced performance tuning, caching, resource management, and Couchbase indexing and query optimization.
• Experience in security, compliance, or enterprise SaaS environments.
• Ability to mentor engineers, lead code reviews, and facilitate technical workshops.
