Lead Fullstack Software Engineer (JavaScript/React/Node.js)

What you will do

• Take technical ownership of multiple products, including new features, technical improvements, and support for editorial teams.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications with JavaScript, React, and Node.js.
• Build and maintain GraphQL APIs and optimize cloud-based applications and services on AWS.
• Develop reliable and scalable data solutions with PostgreSQL and other database technologies.
• Lead and mentor junior developers while establishing engineering standards, code reviews, CI/CD, and automated testing practices.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and technical teams to communicate solutions, identify risks, and drive projects in an agile environment.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience architecting and building scalable web applications.
• Expert JavaScript skills with strong React experience and extensive experience building GraphQL APIs with Node.js.
• Strong AWS experience, including S3, EC2, RDS, API Gateway, CloudFront, and Lambda.
• Hands-on PostgreSQL experience and knowledge of software architecture, scalability, performance, and maintainability.
• Experience maintaining CI/CD pipelines with tools such as GitHub Actions or Jenkins.
• Experience with unit testing, code reviews, Git, documentation, coding standards, technical mentoring, and stakeholder collaboration.

Nice to have

• AI tooling proficiency for coding, drafting, analysis, research, or process automation.
• Experience with NestJS and reusable components, shared libraries, or platforms.
• Experience in media and publishing or building tools for editorial, content, or newsroom teams.
• Experience with highly scalable web applications and cloud-native or distributed architectures.
