TL;DR
Field Engineer (Orchestration): Running technical discovery, customer evaluations, demonstrations, and target architecture design for Kestra's open-source orchestration platform with an accent on enterprise migrations, Kubernetes-based deployments, and customer-facing architecture. Focus on owning proof-of-concepts, replacing legacy orchestrators, resolving production escalations, and expanding platform adoption across complex French accounts.
Location: Remote from anywhere in France. Full-time CDI position supporting French customer accounts.

What you will do
- Run technical discovery with Account Executives and identify current orchestration environments, costs, ownership, and operational risks.
- Own customer evaluations from scoping through verdict, including success plans, self-hosted proof-of-concepts, and production-like demonstrations.
- Design and defend target architectures for enterprise migrations and explain the case for replacing tools such as Control-M, Airflow, Dagster, Prefect, and Step Functions.
- Lead onboarding, training, architecture reviews, account escalations, and expansion into additional customer use cases.
- Diagnose incidents with core engineers, communicate with customers, document root causes, and build automated checks to prevent recurrence.
- Share field feedback with Product, support open-source users, and create blueprints, migration notes, guides, and technical videos.
Requirements
- Senior-level technical experience with production code, debugging, and operating Kubernetes clusters.
- Experience at a Series A, B, or C startup or scale-up, with independent ownership of a broad technical scope.
- At least two roles lasting two years or more, plus ownership of complex migrations, rebuilds, or critical go-lives.
- Customer-facing experience leading workshops, proof-of-concepts, technical committees, or incident response.
- Depth in data engineering, platform and infrastructure as code, or AI and MLOps, including relevant production systems.
- Experience operating or replacing an orchestrator and fluent French and English; English must be strong enough for architecture discussions with international engineers.
Nice to have
- Pre-sales or field engineering experience at a software vendor.
- Experience with banking, insurance, energy, defense, air-gapped deployments, EU data sovereignty, RBAC, or audit requirements.
- Open-source contributions, technical talks, or technical writing.
- German or another third language.
