QA Backend Engineer

Location: Hybrid work model in Rybnik, Poland, with the option to work remotely or from the office.

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain automated tests using Java, Spring, RestAssured, and Python.
• Automate API testing, increase test coverage, and perform manual API testing with Postman.
• Test mobile applications on physical devices and Android Studio emulators.
• Design and run performance tests with JMeter and k6, including tests of dependent services.
• Analyze network traffic with Charles Proxy, investigate defects, and prepare detailed test reports.
• Work with product and development teams on acceptance criteria, testability, stable test suites, and testing best practices.

Requirements

• 5+ years of QA Engineering experience, including test automation.
• Hands-on Java and RestAssured experience; Spring knowledge is an advantage.
• Programming or scripting experience with Python.
• Experience with API testing, mobile application testing, performance testing, and network analysis.
• Experience with Git/GitHub, JIRA, Confluence, and Agile/Scrum methodology.
• Very good English and confidence communicating in an international environment.

Nice to have

• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, such as GitHub Actions.
• Knowledge of security, privacy, or medical device regulations, including HIPAA or GDPR.
• SQL and database data validation experience.
• Mobile test automation experience with Appium.
• ISTQB or similar certification.
