TL;DR
Solutions Engineering Intern (AI): Building and deploying AI-powered internal tools and applications for Envoy teams with an accent on LLM integrations, APIs, data workflows, and user-driven iteration. Focus on designing AI agents and automations, evaluating model outputs, building guardrails, and turning prototypes into reliable production tools.
Location: On-site in San Francisco, California, five days per week, Monday–Friday, at the San Francisco HQ office
Compensation: $40 per hour in the San Francisco Bay Area

What you will do
- Build AI-powered tools and internal applications for teams across .
- Work with stakeholders to understand workflows, pain points, and requirements.
- Build integrations across APIs, internal systems, data sources, and LLMs.
- Prototype solutions quickly and turn successful prototypes into reliable tools.
- Evaluate AI outputs and develop guardrails, testing, and validation.
- Demo solutions, gather feedback, and continuously improve deployed tools.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Strong programming fundamentals, especially in Python.
- Comfortable working with APIs, databases, and SQL.
- Experience building with LLMs or AI tools through projects, coursework, hackathons, or previous internships.
- Ability to break down unclear problems into buildable solutions and communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work on-site at the San Francisco HQ office at least five days per week.
Nice to have
- Experience building AI agents or applications with LLM APIs.
- Experience with MCP, tool calling, RAG, or agentic workflows.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS.
- Experience building internal tools, web applications, or automations.
- Experience with production data systems or analytics infrastructure.
