Senior System Engineer (Linux/Python)

Location: On-site in Springfield, Missouri, United States; remote work is not available.

What you will do

• Gather and document business and technical requirements for enterprise infrastructure solutions.
• Evaluate current environments and develop scalable future-state architectures and implementation plans.
• Monitor infrastructure performance, identify risks and capacity needs, and drive continuous improvement.
• Troubleshoot complex operating system, hardware, software, application, and infrastructure issues.
• Configure and support operating environments, software installations, system updates, and infrastructure components.
• Participate in infrastructure testing, security controls, vendor coordination, technical guidance, and on-call incident response.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience supporting Linux environments.
• 3+ years of experience scripting in Python.
• 3+ years of experience with patching.
• Ability to diagnose technical problems, review requirements, develop technical plans, and conduct gap analyses.
• Experience designing, executing, and documenting systems or service tests.
• Ability to analyze trends, compile data, and document current and future technical architectures.

Nice to have

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers or providing technical leadership.
