Software Engineer (Optimizely)

Location: Must be able to work from Virginia, Tennessee, or North Carolina. Fully remote, hybrid, or fully office-based work is available; occasional travel to offices or client locations may be required. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

What you will do

• Design, implement, test, and continuously deliver features and products for enterprise-scale content management systems.
• Architect and build consumer-grade digital experiences in collaboration with software engineers, UX designers, project managers, strategists, analysts, and clients.
• Implement and extend Optimizely and other CMS platforms through content modeling, theming, custom modules, configuration management, search APIs, and migration APIs.
• Develop frontend experiences using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Angular, GraphQL, and Next.js.
• Work across local, QA, UAT, and production environments with cloud, on-premises, hosting, source-control, and pipeline systems.
• Provide technical leadership by setting direction, making trade-off decisions, and supporting other engineers.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Hands-on implementation experience with Optimizely is required.
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles and software delivery best practices.
• Experience with enterprise CMS platforms and frontend web development.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, consulting, teamwork, and continuous-improvement skills.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States is required.

Nice to have

• Current Optimizely CMS or DXP certification and multiple Optimizely project implementations.
• Experience with AI coding assistants and AI-assisted development workflows.
• Experience building agent-based capabilities within DXP platforms.
• Headless CMS, Docker, and client-facing experience.
