Senior Data Scientist (Machine Learning)

Location: US Remote; compensation range is specified for US-based candidates

Salary: $150,000–$180,000 per year, plus potential equity compensation

What you will do

• Build scalable data products and machine learning models for operations, marketing, and customer experience.
• Own the full model lifecycle, including data extraction, feature engineering, deployment, A/B testing, and performance monitoring.
• Write complex SQL, develop features, and deploy baseline models in 0-to-1 environments before iterating toward more advanced solutions.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Finance, and business stakeholders to define requirements and turn model outputs into actionable insights.
• Write modular, production-ready code, participate in code reviews, and contribute to data engineering standards.
• Mentor junior data scientists and analysts while driving projects through technical ambiguity.

Requirements

• 5+ years of applied experience in Data Science or ML Engineering with production-ready models that deliver measurable business value.
• Strong Python and SQL skills, including pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, and machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch, XGBoost, or LightGBM.
• Experience with cloud environments such as AWS or GCP, CI/CD, Git, and MLOps principles.
• Ability to connect technical metrics to business outcomes and explain models, limitations, and findings to non-technical stakeholders.
• BS, MS, or equivalent experience in Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
• Must be based in the United States for the stated compensation range; the role is remote.

Nice to have

• Experience taking initial machine learning models from exploratory notebooks to reliable, automated production pipelines.
• Experience with customer behavior and propensity modeling, churn, lead scoring, or lifetime value prediction.
• Experience with time-series forecasting, anomaly detection, non-stationary data, optimization, or causal inference.
