Senior IAM Engineer

Location: New York City, hybrid

Salary: $138,000–$173,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Design and implement IAM architecture across AWS, SaaS applications, infrastructure, and on-premises systems.
• Manage identity lifecycle processes, including provisioning, deprovisioning, access requests, approvals, reviews, and recertification.
• Architect MFA, SSO, identity federation, device access controls, and FIDO2 passwordless authentication.
• Develop IAM automation using APIs, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, workflow orchestration, and custom application connectors.
• Implement RBAC, ABAC, least-privilege controls, continuous identity monitoring, and incident response capabilities.
• Support AI agent governance and maintain identity governance documentation, dashboards, metrics, and technical playbooks.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on IAM engineering and implementation experience across cloud, hybrid, and on-premises environments.
• Strong experience with AWS IAM, Azure AD/Entra ID, Okta, LDAP/Active Directory, OAuth 2.0, SAML, OIDC, MFA, and SSO.
• Experience designing RBAC and ABAC models, identity governance programs, access reviews, segregation of duties, and continuous access monitoring.
• Programming or scripting experience with Python, Bash, Go, or similar technologies, including API integrations and workflow automation.
• Experience with Terraform or CloudFormation, DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, SaaS integrations, GitHub, and Atlassian products.
• Knowledge of NIST, Zero Trust, SOC 2, PCI-DSS, GLI-GSF, and other identity security and compliance standards.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related technical field.
• CISSP, CISM, Okta, AWS, Azure, or other recognized IAM certifications.
• Consulting experience or senior IAM experience in regulated industries.
