TL;DR
Staff Analytics Engineer (dbt/SQL): Building and maintaining scalable data transformation models for a GCP-based brokerage data platform processing hundreds of millions of daily events with an accent on data quality, semantic modelling, and stakeholder-facing data products. Focus on optimizing OLTP and OLAP queries, establishing CI/CD and data governance standards, and delivering consistent metrics through BI and reverse ETL systems.

What you will do
- Own the data transformation layer and build scalable models with dbt and SQL.
- Develop data products for finance, operations, customer success, marketing, and executive stakeholders.
- Set standards for data modelling, testing, monitoring, source control, and code review.
- Integrate data models with BI tools and reverse ETL systems for consistent metric reporting.
- Improve data warehouse performance, ETL efficiency, data quality, and discoverability.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in analytics engineering or data engineering, focused on ELT transformation.
- Expert-level SQL and dbt skills, with proficiency in Python for transformations beyond SQL.
- Experience with query optimization across OLTP and OLAP systems, including PostgreSQL or Iceberg.
- Experience with semantic layer modelling, CI/CD workflows, Git, version control, and code review standards.
- Familiarity with GCP or AWS cloud environments.
- Ability to work remotely from the EMEA region.
Nice to have
- Experience with Airbyte or similar data ingestion tools.
- Experience with Airflow or similar orchestration tools.
- Brokerage operations experience or an interest in financial markets and financial data modelling.
