Fleet Maintenance/Runner

Location: Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada. Work is conducted at Island EMS bases, with occasional travel to dealers, manufacturers, and maintenance facilities outside the base.

Salary: $21.00 per hour. Casual part-time position available for 12 months, with possible extension.

What you will do

• Maintain, clean, stock, and secure ambulances, support units, and other fleet vehicles.
• Compile and manage mechanical, medical, and cleaning supplies according to inventory procedures.
• Perform general base and vehicle maintenance and participate in quarterly inspections.
• Drive company vehicles to EMS bases, automotive centres, dealers, manufacturers, and maintenance facilities.
• Prepare ambulances, support units, and specialized trailers for events throughout the province.
• Maintain the ambulance bay, secure the centre, and ensure all units are powered down and ready for operation.

Requirements

• Minimum Grade 12 education.
• Valid Class 4 driver's licence, or the ability and willingness to obtain one.
• Driver's abstract and criminal record check completed within the last 60 days.
• Ability to crouch, stand for long periods, bend, and lift more than 50 lb.
• Strong organization, multitasking, communication, decision-making, initiative, professionalism, and customer service skills.
• WHMIS certification, or willingness to obtain it; steel-toe work shoes are required.

Nice to have

• Experience with vehicle maintenance, inventory control, or preventive maintenance programs.
• First Aid certification.
