Junior Sustainability Specialist (Human Rights) (Sustainability/ESG): Supporting human rights due diligence, supplier sustainability assessments, and procurement-related ESG processes in an international industrial organization with an accent on responsible sourcing, supply chain transparency, and regulatory reporting. Focus on coordinating supplier and customer assessments, monitoring human rights KPIs, strengthening internal ESG guidance, and translating complex sustainability requirements into practical stakeholder actions.
Location: Lisbon, Portugal; Greater Lisbon area required. Hybrid work with mobile work possible twice per week. Start date: January 2027.

What you will do
- Support the Sustainability Manager in implementing the sustainability strategy, focusing on human rights and procurement-related ESG topics.
- Coordinate supplier sustainability assessments, follow-ups, customer ESG requests, external ratings, and sustainability questionnaires.
- Monitor, track, and report ESG KPIs related to human rights and supply chain sustainability.
- Support responsible sourcing, working conditions, grievance mechanisms, supply chain transparency, and human rights due diligence initiatives.
- Improve internal ESG guidance, policies, processes, training, workshops, and communication initiatives.
- Contribute to sustainability disclosures and monitor relevant human rights regulations and reporting requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in sustainability management, business administration with a sustainability focus, supply chain management, human rights, social sciences, law, or a related field.
- Approximately two years of relevant experience in human rights, responsible sourcing, or sustainability consulting within industrial and international business environments.
- Good understanding of human rights due diligence processes and frameworks, including DDTrO, UNGPs, OECD RBC Guidance, LkSG, and CSDDD.
- Experience with supplier sustainability assessments and ESG rating platforms such as EcoVadis or CDP.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, synthesis, and cross-functional communication skills.
- Excellent written and spoken English required; German is an advantage.
