Data Scientist (AI/ML)

Location: Onsite in Uppsala, Sweden; applicants must live in Uppsala or a nearby area and commute to the site daily.

What you will do

• Support product development from idea generation through production transfer by developing scientific workflows and data-driven use cases.
• Work with R&D subject-matter experts to identify opportunities for automation, optimization, and AI/ML.
• Design and document maintainable data flows and solutions with stakeholders and IT architects.
• Develop applications, tools, and interfaces for efficient data access, visualization, and analysis.
• Perform data analysis, troubleshoot development projects, and develop, implement, and tune predictive models.
• Support production deployment, monitoring, and operations with IT, DevOps, and platform teams.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in a technical discipline, with expert competency in data science, data engineering, or bioinformatics, or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency in Python, exploratory data analysis, data cleaning and transformation, SQL, databases, and modern AI/ML techniques.
• Experience with data management solutions, AWS and Azure data services, and version control with Git.
• Strong knowledge of multivariate statistics and predictive modeling; comfortable working with R.
• Resident in Uppsala or a nearby area with flexibility to commute onsite daily.

Nice to have

• Experience with image analysis, computer vision, or protein/DNA sequence alignment.
• Experience with Design of Experiments, web development, DevOps, or CI/CD.
• Practical wet-lab experience and analytical chemistry experience.
