Statutory Accountant, APAC

Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

What you will do

• Ensure statutory, tax, and US GAAP compliance for entities across the APAC region.
• Prepare timely and accurate tax returns and tax-related reports.
• Support internal and external tax audits, including audit defense strategy where required.
• Respond to tax-related questions from local authorities and internal departments.
• Monitor indirect tax legislation and assess its impact on business processes.
• Support regional and global finance projects, process controls, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• 4–5 years of relevant accounting or tax experience.
• Master’s degree in Finance or Accounting, or part-qualified ACCA/CIMA.
• Experience in a multinational environment and/or audit, with proven indirect tax expertise.
• Good knowledge of US GAAP and strong reporting skills using Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Fluent written and spoken English required.
• Ability and willingness to travel internationally; additional hours may be required during month-end and exceptional public-holiday periods.

Nice to have

• Experience with JDE, BlackLine, and W-Desk.
• Mandarin language skills.
