Principal Engineer, HVAC, Mechanical, and Sustainability

Location: Site-based full-time position in Norwood, Massachusetts, United States; not eligible for remote work. Only U.S. persons are eligible due to export control requirements.

Salary: $142,500–$256,500 per year, plus potential discretionary bonus, incentive compensation, or equity.

What you will do

• Lead the design and optimization of HVAC and mechanical systems for critical facilities, laboratories, and capital projects.
• Provide subject-matter expertise on HVAC, mechanical engineering, sustainability, energy efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
• Oversee design, construction, and operational readiness for clinical and commercial facilities, including international sites.
• Develop standardized engineering practices and integrate renewable energy, efficient HVAC designs, and green building certifications.
• Monitor energy performance and implement improvements that reduce environmental impact and operating costs.
• Mentor engineers, lead training, support technical investigations and CAPAs, and advise senior leadership and project stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of HVAC and mechanical engineering experience with a strong sustainability focus.
• Deep knowledge of HVAC and mechanical system design, construction, and operations, including large-scale international projects.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification required.
• Strong understanding of FDA, EMA, ICH, GxP/GMP, data integrity, safety, and quality requirements.
• Must work full-time at the hirify.global site in the United States and qualify as a U.S. person; non-U.S. persons cannot be sponsored for an export control license.
