Software Test Engineering Co-op (Beatbox)

What you will do

• Develop, maintain, and execute automated end-to-end tests for medical device software using Pytest and in-house tools.
• Collaborate with developers and QA engineers to understand requirements and create comprehensive test plans.
• Identify, document, track, and help resolve software defects.
• Perform manual and automated testing of application functionality, performance, and security.
• Participate in code reviews and walkthroughs to support code quality and industry standards.
• Generate test reports, recommend improvements, and contribute to better testing processes and methodologies.

Requirements

• Junior, senior, or graduate student pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
• Familiarity with automated testing frameworks, especially Pytest.
• Knowledge of SQL-based or NoSQL databases and proficiency in at least one programming language such as C, Rust, Python, or JavaScript.
• Experience with Git and practical project experience through coursework, personal projects, or internships.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, written communication, and collaboration skills.
• Must be permanently authorized to work in the United States and must not require current or future employment visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Coursework or experience in software development, software testing, electrical engineering, signals and systems, or embedded devices.
• Experience with embedded software and low-level languages such as C, C++, Rust, or Go.
• Exposure to Agile or Scrum methodologies.
• Open-source contributions or a personal portfolio.
