What you will do

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of systems for evaluation, answer retrieval, and quality improvement in customer support.
• Make architectural decisions that improve the performance, reliability, and accuracy of knowledge systems.
• Apply product development, machine learning, and large language models to complex technical use cases in secure enterprise environments.
• Deliver production-ready code and services end to end, including performance tuning, resiliency improvements, and live debugging.
• Drive engineering excellence through design reviews, code quality, testing strategies, and performance optimization.
• Contribute to technical planning and strategic initiatives across the Assistant and Support organizations.

Requirements

• 6+ years of industry experience building and operating large-scale distributed systems.
• Strong technical proficiency in machine learning and software engineering, combined with a product-oriented approach.
• Ability to define and structure solutions in ambiguous problem domains.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers and collaborating across team boundaries.
• Track record of leading high-impact, technically complex initiatives that delivered customer or business value.
• Ability to work from the San Francisco, California location.
