Senior Software Emulation Engineer (TeraWave)

Location: Greater Seattle Area; U.S. work authorization required

Salary: $197,529–$276,539.55 annual base pay for Washington applicants; California and Colorado ranges may differ.

hirify.global develops reusable space vehicles and systems and is building TeraWave, a satellite communications network using optically interconnected LEO and MEO satellites.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain a high-fidelity, real-time hardware emulation software framework.
• Develop and test software drivers for emulation hardware interfaces.
• Integrate vehicle component simulations with the hardware emulation platform.
• Create test plans, automation scripts, and procedures to validate emulated systems against flight hardware.
• Debug software-hardware interface issues and resolve discrepancies between emulation and physical hardware.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in embedded software, simulation, or hardware emulation and testing.
• Proficiency in C/C++ and Python or a similar scripting language for test automation and data analysis.
• Knowledge of real-time operating systems, embedded control systems, APIs, interfaces, device drivers, and computer architecture.
• Familiarity with digital communication protocols such as Ethernet, SpaceWire, CAN, I2C, SPI, or UART.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted refugee or asylee.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree or 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with Hardware-in-the-Loop vehicle simulators, Simics, Docker, Kubernetes, and containerization.
• Experience with CI/CD, Git, GitLab, GitHub, Jenkins, or Jama SVN.
• Knowledge of IP networking, MATLAB, Simulink, GNC systems, and 6DOF dynamics.
