Camera Operator, Jib

Location: Miami, FL; 100% onsite. The role supports 24x7 operations and may require extended onsite coverage during special circumstances, including tropical storms or hurricanes.

What you will do

• Create smooth, fluid jib camera movements that enhance program production value.
• Pan, tilt, swing, zoom, and focus the camera while maintaining stable framing and strong visual composition.
• Set up, balance, troubleshoot, and maintain the crane, camera, and associated equipment.
• Follow production rundowns and direction while collaborating with the Director, Producer, and production team.
• Operate the crane safely to minimize risks to people, equipment, and property.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in television production or equivalent work experience.
• 3–5 years of experience in a control room broadcast facility.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with Windows operating systems.
• Physical ability to operate and stop a boom of up to 40 feet while handling a camera load of up to 50 pounds, the crane, and counterweights.
• Ability to perform under pressure during breaking news and rapidly changing production conditions.
• Availability for regular hours, on-call coverage, days, nights, overnights, weekends, and holidays without advance notice.

• Fluency in both English and Spanish.
• Ability to provide creative input on show visuals, set design, and alternate shots.
