DBA Engineer (PostgreSQL and MariaDB/MySQL)

What you will do

• Deploy, administer, upgrade, and scale PostgreSQL and MariaDB clusters in high-load production environments.
• Design and maintain high-availability and disaster-recovery solutions, including replication, failover, backups, and restoration.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration with Terraform and Ansible.
• Analyze query plans, optimize indexes and database parameters, troubleshoot locking and replication lag, and tune Linux kernel parameters.
• Configure monitoring, dashboards, logging, alerting, and SLOs for database services.
• Investigate incidents, participate in on-call activities, and develop operational automation for health checks, failover validation, maintenance, and database lifecycle management.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience as a DBA, DBRE, DevOps Engineer, or System Administrator focused on production relational databases.
• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL and MariaDB architecture, replication, backup, performance tuning, and transactional workloads.
• Experience with Patroni, PgBouncer, MaxScale, or Galera, including failover testing and backup recovery.
• Strong SQL and query optimization skills, plus proficiency in Terraform, Ansible, and Python or Bash.
• Deep knowledge of Linux internals, filesystems, CPU, memory, disk I/O, networking, and kernel tuning.
• Experience with Prometheus or VictoriaMetrics, Grafana, and the ELK stack.

Nice to have

• Experience with Debezium, Kafka Connect, Kubernetes, Helm, managed database services, and cloud infrastructure.
• Knowledge of ClickHouse, MongoDB, Redis, database security, TLS, secrets management, auditing, or encryption.
• Experience supporting applications written in Java, Go, Python, or similar languages.
