Senior Database Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid role based in the Limassol office, Cyprus. Relocation support is available for employees and their families.

Salary: from €7,000 per month net, plus an annual performance bonus.

What you will do

• Design and evolve distributed database architectures for high availability and scalability.
• Own replication strategies, failover mechanisms, clustering, and data consistency models.
• Ensure production reliability, lead incident response and root cause analysis, and eliminate recurring issues.
• Optimize complex queries, indexing strategies, data models, and high-load database workloads.
• Build automation for backups, failover, scaling, deployment, and other database operations.
• Improve Infrastructure-as-Code, observability, and self-service platform capabilities.

Requirements

• 4–7+ years of experience in database engineering or DBA roles.
• Experience with high-load, distributed systems and at least two production-grade database platforms, such as PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, MongoDB, or Cassandra.
• Strong knowledge of high availability, disaster recovery, clustering, consistency, isolation, and scaling.
• Advanced database performance tuning and query optimization skills.
• Understanding of SLI/SLO principles and production reliability practices.
• Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, automation scripts, Infrastructure-as-Code, and CI/CD pipelines.
