Medical Assistant (Neurology)

What you will do

• Prepare patients for examinations, obtain vital signs, update medical information, and support efficient patient flow.
• Assist physicians and other licensed staff with ECGs, venipuncture, immunizations, specimen collection, CLIA-waived testing, and procedure setup.
• Prepare, disinfect, sterilize, and stock examination rooms, equipment, instruments, vaccines, and medications.
• Communicate professionally with patients and the care team in person and by phone while protecting patient confidentiality.
• Perform specialty-specific delegated procedures and follow clinic safety, opening, and closing procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Current certification as a medical assistant, or written proof of eligibility for an AAMA, AMT, NCCT, NHA, or NRCMA certification exam.
• American Heart Association-accredited BLS/CPR certification required.
• Zero to two years of relevant experience and strong computer skills.
• Certification must be completed within the first six months of employment, with up to two test attempts, as a condition of employment.

Nice to have

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program.
• One to two years of ambulatory care experience.
• Experience with electronic medical records.
