Manufacturing Laboratorian (Chemistry)

What you will do

• Perform routine and non-routine analytical tests to support manufacturing production commitments.
• Calibrate laboratory equipment and troubleshoot equipment issues or suspect results.
• Audit reagents and supplies and maintain appropriate laboratory inventory.
• Communicate with peers, supervisors, and manufacturing representatives.
• Train others on routine tests and equipment as needed.
• Handle hazardous and non-hazardous waste, respond to emergencies when required, and maintain housekeeping standards.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Successful scores on the Lab Industrial Aptitude Battery test and Lab Hands-on Skill Assessment.
• Comfort with computer data entry.
• Ability to work a 12-hour rotating shift schedule, including overtime, weekends, holidays, and short-notice call-ins.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform standing, walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, reaching, and alarm-response duties.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment and work safely with laboratory and plant materials.

Nice to have

• Two- or four-year degree in Chemistry or another scientific field.
• Completion of a laboratory certification program.
• Experience in a chemical manufacturing or other laboratory setting.
• At least one year of laboratory experience.
