Sr Database Engineer (AI)

Location: Hybrid in Frisco, Texas; on-site work is required as needed, and candidates must be within commuting distance. Relocation assistance is not offered.

Salary: USD $123,650–$229,650 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

What you will do

• Administer, maintain, and optimize PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and NoSQL databases across production and non-production environments.
• Design scalable, highly available, secure database architectures, data models, and database management solutions.
• Manage AWS database platforms and provision infrastructure using Python, Terraform, Infrastructure as Code, and automation.
• Implement backup, recovery, migration, disaster recovery, and recovery testing strategies.
• Support database release management, CI/CD initiatives, troubleshooting, and production issue resolution.
• Lead database-related projects and collaborate with application, infrastructure, security, operations, product, and project management teams.

Requirements

• 7+ years of database administration and engineering experience.
• Strong PostgreSQL administration experience and experience with Microsoft SQL Server, NoSQL databases, and DynamoDB.
• Hands-on AWS database and cloud architecture experience.
• Experience with database design, data architecture, data modeling, performance tuning, security, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery.
• Proficiency in Python scripting, Terraform, Infrastructure as Code, Linux administration, and database automation.
• Must be within commuting distance of Frisco, Texas for hybrid work; relocation assistance is not available.

Nice to have

• Exposure to AI-focused data platforms, vector databases, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation architectures.
• Familiarity with GitHub, ER/Studio, Jira, and TIL-based service management tools.
• Experience leading technical initiatives and managing stakeholders.
