Team Lead - Cellular Biology (m/f/d) (Cell Biology): Building and scaling a cellular assay team while designing, executing, and interpreting functional assays for small-molecule and therapeutic-modality profiling with an accent on high-throughput screening, assay automation, and data quality. Focus on leading PhD-level scientists, developing advanced cellular models, optimizing robust screening workflows, and aligning scientific delivery across Munich and global teams.
Location: On-site in Munich, Germany; home-office and remote work are not available.

What you will do
- Lead, build, and scale a cellular assay team of PhD-level and laboratory scientists, including hiring, mentoring, and performance management.
- Design, conduct, and interpret cellular functional assays for hit characterization, high-throughput screening, and compound profiling.
- Develop state-of-the-art assays for profiling small molecules and other therapeutic modalities.
- Optimize, miniaturize, and automate robust screening assays to improve efficiency and reliability.
- Collaborate on-site with cross-functional Crelux teams to deliver client projects.
- Act as a scientific liaison between the Munich cell biology team and the global cell biology organization.
Requirements
- PhD in Biology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related scientific field.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture and cellular functional assays for drug development.
- At least 3 years of proven experience leading and growing a scientific team, preferably in a fast-paced, high-throughput environment.
- Expertise in advanced cellular assays, including target engagement, signaling, and reporter assays.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Excellent English communication skills and willingness to work full-time on-site in Munich are required.
Nice to have
- Experience working in a CRO providing cell biology services.
- Experience with 3D models, primary cells, organoids, or membrane targets such as GPCRs.
- Experience with CRISPR/Cas9 tools.
- German language skills.
