Associate or Senior Editor (Human Behaviour)

Location: Hybrid role based in one of the offices in Shanghai, Berlin or Pune

What you will do

• Handle original research papers for Nature Communications and oversee manuscript selection and peer review.
• Assess the scientific quality, novelty, context and implications of submitted research.
• Make well-reasoned editorial decisions based on expert advice.
• Help determine the representation of human behaviour research in the journal.
• Collaborate with Nature Portfolio editors and experts in the international scientific community.
• Attend conferences and visit research institutions worldwide.

Requirements

• PhD or equivalent in political science, economics, particularly behavioural economics, or a closely related field.
• Thorough understanding of recent trends and developments in the relevant discipline.
• Ability to assess research from different areas of the discipline and understand its novelty, context and implications.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Fluent English, written and spoken, is required.
• Willingness to travel and engage with scientists worldwide.

Nice to have

• Additional research experience.
• Significant editorial experience, which may support consideration for a Senior Editor position.
