Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (Medical Oncology and Hematology): Providing inpatient clinical care for oncology and hematology patients with an accent on diagnosis, treatment management, patient education, and collaboration with physicians. Focus on evaluating complex health conditions, ordering and interpreting tests, prescribing therapies, mentoring learners, and participating in quality improvement and research.

Location: Onsite at 10350 Haligus Rd., Huntley, Illinois, United States. Schedule: five eight-hour shifts, Monday–Friday, with required day hospital call.

Salary: $61.00–$79.67 per hour.

What you will do

  • Provide inpatient clinical care for an assigned medical oncology and hematology patient population.
  • Conduct health histories and physical examinations, assess patient needs, and manage a broad range of health problems.
  • Prescribe or order medications and therapies, and order and interpret laboratory tests, imaging, and procedures within clinical privileges.
  • Educate patients, families, staff, and professional groups about relevant health conditions and care.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other disciplines, provide referrals and consultation, and advocate for patients and families.
  • Participate in quality improvement, research, committees, continuing education, and mentoring or precepting activities.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree from an accredited nursing school or Physician Assistant program.
  • Current Illinois licensure is required: Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse licensure for APRNs, or Physician Assistant licensure for PAs.
  • Acute care certification is required for APRNs; inpatient NP experience may be accepted instead.
  • APRN national certification approved by the Illinois Department of Regulation APRN Board, or the required PA credentials.
  • Credentialing and privileges through the hirify.global Medical Staff Office, plus BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Controlled substance licensure and a DEA number may be applied for after licensure.
