Developer Experience (DX) Lead (AI)

Location: Bucharest, Romania; hybrid work with 3 days per week from the office. Up to 2 months per year of remote work is available.

hirify.global operates a multi-studio game development environment involving technical directors, leads, and senior engineers.

What you will do

• Work with technical leaders and senior engineers across studios to understand workflows, engines, technology stacks, build pipelines, tooling, CI/CD, and testing practices.
• Identify recurring friction points, technical risks, opportunities for simplification, and areas where shared approaches can improve reliability and development velocity.
• Turn field observations into actionable initiatives, define success criteria, coordinate focused missions, and maintain momentum through follow-up.
• Develop lightweight shared practices, reference workflows, and reusable tools or engine integrations based on proven value and acceptable risk.
• Explore and support the safe adoption of AI-assisted tools for code review, refactoring, testing, migrations, and documentation.
• Share technical patterns, risks, progress, and learnings across studios while aligning engineers and leadership.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in game or software engineering, including shipped titles or production tooling.
• T-shaped experience across multiple engines, technology stacks, and build or CI/CD pipelines, with deep expertise in at least one area.
• Experience driving cross-team change through influence without direct authority, including facilitation and stakeholder management.
• Experience scoping initiatives, defining success criteria, coordinating focused missions, and following through.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools for code review, refactoring, testing, or migrations.
• Excellent English communication skills are required, along with comfort working in a distributed, multi-studio, multi-timezone organization.
