Director of Quality Engineering (AI)

What you will do

• Define and manage the quality operating model across R&D, including ownership expectations, release-readiness standards, metrics, and review routines.
• Build Quality Engineering methodology and tooling for automation, test data, test environments, and non-functional quality.
• Lead centralized Quality Engineering capabilities, including manual validation, automation, and AI-assisted quality tooling.
• Partner with Engineering, Product, DevEx, and SRE to turn quality standards into consistent day-to-day practices.
• Use quality metrics and production feedback to identify weak areas and drive improvement plans.

Requirements

• Significant experience leading Quality Engineering or QA in a complex SaaS or cloud-based product environment.
• Strong technical judgment across automation, test architecture, test data, and production-quality practices.
• Experience improving engineering quality through methodology, tools, standards, and coaching.
• Strong operational leadership, cross-team coordination, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Pragmatic leadership style with the ability to create standards that engineering teams adopt.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI-assisted quality workflows, test generation, or regression-selection workflows.
• Experience with developer productivity, internal platforms, or DevEx initiatives.
• Background as a software engineer, software architect, automation architect, or technical quality leader.
