Postdoc in Molecular Cell Biology

Location: Milan, Italy; relocation support is available for researchers moving to Italy.

Salary: up to €43,000 per year, depending on seniority.

What you will do

• Identify novel protein-protein interactions using in situ crosslinking mass spectrometry.
• Characterize disease-relevant protein mutations through biochemical studies.
• Perform protein perturbation experiments in cells to investigate molecular pathways involved in nuclear-envelope diseases.
• Develop research methods and tools, document experiments, and generate and analyze high-quality biological data.
• Prepare manuscripts, figures, grant materials, and scientific presentations.
• Mentor students and junior staff while collaborating with internal teams, external experts, and research leaders.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in biochemistry, molecular cell biology, proteomics, or a related field involving wet-lab approaches.
• Proven ability to lead research projects independently and analyze biological datasets.
• Experience working in interdisciplinary and collaborative research environments.
• Ability to write publications, present findings, and communicate research to multidisciplinary audiences.
• Fluent English required.
• The role is based in Milan, Italy.

Nice to have

• Experience with mammalian cell culture.
• Experience with light microscopy.
