What you will do

• Support the development and implementation of programmes and projects related to agricultural biotechnologies, agrifood systems transformation, and food security.
• Collect, review, and analyse technical, social, economic, environmental, and technology information and data.
• Assess gaps, opportunities, and scale-up options for biotechnology solutions across global, regional, and country contexts.
• Prepare concept notes, project documents, policy briefs, technical knowledge products, articles, statements, and briefing materials.
• Support meetings, conferences, workshops, training materials, monitoring, reporting, and stakeholder consultations.
• Help establish partnerships with governments, research institutions, universities, NGOs, civil society, farmers’ organizations, and the private sector.

Requirements

• Advanced university degree in biotechnology, agricultural biotechnology, genetics, breeding, or genomics, with an applied focus on food security and international development.
• At least one year of relevant experience in agrifood biotechnology programmes and projects.
• Working knowledge of English at proficiency level C and intermediate knowledge of another hirify.global official language at level B are required.
• Knowledge of agricultural biotechnology applications, policy and regulatory frameworks, biosafety, and intellectual property systems.
• Experience with R, Stata, Python, bioinformatics, big data analysis, and data visualisation.
• Applicants should be 32 years of age or younger as of 31 December of the year of application.

Nice to have

• Working knowledge at proficiency level C of another hirify.global official language.
• Experience in field positions or in more than one location or area of work.
• Experience in scientific writing, science communication, stakeholder engagement, and partnership development.
