Location: Athens, Greece; hybrid work model with two days working from home.

What you will do
- Plan, manage, and scale datastores to meet platform requirements.
- Test backup and recovery processes, conduct security audits, and prevent database failures.
- Automate manual database operations while protecting data integrity.
- Analyze database risks and determine which challenges to address, automate, or optimize.
- Collaborate with DevOps and team leaders to improve reliability, testability, maintainability, standardization, and system availability.
- Support developers with database guidance, guardrails, documentation, and participation in the on-call rotation.
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional experience.
- Familiarity with Python, Git, Prometheus, Graphite, and Grafana.
- Strong knowledge of database design, implementation, and maintenance for RDBMSs.
- Experience optimizing database performance through query structuring and database engine tuning.
- Expertise in failure prevention and recovery scenarios.
- Must be eligible or legally authorized to work in Greece; resumes must be submitted in English.
