Senior Software Engineer (Kubernetes Automation)

Location: Remote-first, limited to candidates residing in Bulgaria, Croatia, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, or Ukraine

Salary: €6,500–€9,000 gross per month, depending on experience

What you will do

• Design and build distributed systems that autonomously operate Kubernetes infrastructure at scale.
• Develop production Go services that interact with AWS, GCP, and Azure APIs for real-time cloud resource management.
• Build automation for node placement, provisioning, workload rightsizing, workload relocation, storage scaling, and GPU capacity optimization.
• Own features end-to-end, from architecture and implementation through testing and production rollout.
• Debug complex issues across cloud providers, Kubernetes clusters, control-plane internals, and distributed services.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams, contribute to product direction, and participate in on-call rotations where required.

Requirements

• Strong software engineering fundamentals, including clean abstractions, maintainable code, and sound architectural judgment.
• Production experience with Go or strong systems programming experience in a comparable language.
• Understanding of Kubernetes internals, including autoscaling and networking.
• Experience driving complex projects end-to-end, using production observability tooling, and applying CI/CD and DevOps practices.
• Experience with AI coding agents and agentic development workflows.
• Strong written and verbal English and residence in one of the specified European countries are required.

Nice to have

• Deep hands-on experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure, including compute, networking, and storage internals.
• Knowledge of EKS, GKE, or AKS internals and container runtimes such as CRI-O, runc, or containerd.
• Experience with cloud storage, CSI, volume management, filesystems, Linux internals, packet-level networking, eBPF, or SDN.
• Low-level systems programming in C or C++, Kubernetes or cloud-native open-source contributions.
