Senior Backend Engineer (.NET) (Payments)

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain backend services and shared libraries for payment gateway and integration teams.
• Develop scalable cloud-native microservices, REST/gRPC APIs, and integrations with C# and .NET 9.
• Build data and messaging solutions using PostgreSQL, EF Core, Redis or Valkey, and Kafka.
• Design resilient message-driven workflows with transactional outbox/inbox, idempotent processing, sagas, retries, eventual consistency, and event sourcing where appropriate.
• Improve reliability, performance, testability, observability, and maintainability across payment-critical services.
• Mentor engineers and promote modern engineering practices, including AI-assisted development.

Requirements

• Strong backend engineering experience with C# and ASP.NET.
• Experience designing distributed systems, microservices, REST/gRPC APIs, and shared components.
• Strong knowledge of microservice and distributed-system patterns, including transactional outbox/inbox, idempotent processing, sagas, distributed transactions, retries, and eventual consistency.
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, EF Core, Redis or comparable key-value stores, Kafka or equivalent message brokers, and event-driven architecture.
• Experience with integration testing, CI/CD, code quality, observability, reliability, and AI coding agents or AI-assisted development tools.
• Ability to own technical initiatives, collaborate across engineering teams, and lead through technical influence.

Nice to have

• Experience in payments, fintech, or other high-reliability transactional environments.
• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, GitOps, ArgoCD, Terraform, AWS, .NET Aspire, and OpenTelemetry-based observability.
