Field Service Engineer (Semiconductor Equipment)

Location: Icheon, South Korea; onsite at customer facilities. The role involves more than 60% cleanroom work, domestic and international travel, occasional weekend on-call duty, and possible shift work.

What you will do

• Install, upgrade, relocate, maintain, and service HMI inspection and metrology equipment at customer sites.
• Run diagnostics, perform regular and irregular maintenance, and independently solve equipment problems.
• Prepare work orders, field service reports, system problem reports, pass-downs, and technical documentation.
• Advise customers on correcting system malfunctions, provide technical assistance, and train customers in equipment use and maintenance.
• Coordinate with junior and senior engineers, applications teams, line managers, and global technical support through the escalation process.
• Identify improvement opportunities, contribute to post-mortems, and create technical action plans.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a similar degree with equivalent experience.
• At least 3 years of experience in the field, preferably with semiconductor equipment.
• Ability to work at customer sites and spend extended periods in a cleanroom wearing a Gore-Tex suit.
• Strong customer focus, technical communication, attention to detail, and professional problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently or in a team, follow strict procedures, and manage changing workloads and deadlines.
• Legal authorization to access technology controlled under United States Export Administration Regulations is required before starting work.

Nice to have

• Experience installing metrology, inspection, or other semiconductor equipment.
• Previous customer support experience.
