HK Network Security Engineer (Firewall)

Location: Hong Kong. Hybrid working mode with morning and lunch shift duties, including weekend and holiday work.

What you will do

• Design, implement, and deliver firewall and network security initiatives for an established European investment bank.
• Deploy and manage Fortinet FortiGate firewalls in enterprise environments.
• Support production systems, troubleshoot technical issues, and coordinate timely incident resolution with clients and development teams.
• Monitor system performance and operation, diagnose problems, and improve production resilience, automation, uptime, and operational efficiency.
• Handle business-driven and exchange-driven projects, including quality assurance testing, deployments, and upgrades of mission-critical systems.
• Follow ITIL incident escalation and change management procedures and maintain system and process documentation.

Requirements

• 6–8 years of experience in network security with a strong focus on firewall technologies.
• Hands-on experience designing and implementing Fortinet FortiGate firewalls.
• Proven experience delivering firewall deployment projects in enterprise environments.
• Fortinet certification at NSE4 level or above is required.
• Good understanding of network security principles, including VPNs, NAT, IPS, and threat prevention.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills; banking or financial services experience is highly preferred.
