Machine Learning Manager (Advertising Science)

Location: Hybrid in Boston, Massachusetts, with designated office days Tuesday through Thursday and remote work Monday and Friday; also open to Seattle, Washington.

Annual base pay: USD 297,250–298,625.

What you will do

• Own the strategy, roadmap, and execution of supplier advertising intelligence and automation solutions.
• Lead GenAI-powered creative optimization, ML recommendation systems, agentic chat interfaces, and campaign automation.
• Build, coach, and manage a team of machine learning scientists developing budget, tROAS, SKU, creative testing, and simulation-driven decisioning systems.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Sales, AdTech, ML Platform, and Campaign Management teams to deliver scalable advertising solutions.
• Research advertising science, GenAI creative personalization, auction modeling, and automated advertising decisioning.
• Provide technical mentorship and subject-matter expertise across the broader data science and engineering organization.

Requirements

• PhD with 5+ years, MS with 9+ years, or BS with 10+ years of experience in a quantitative STEM field.
• 2+ years of experience as a lead or manager building advanced machine learning models is preferred.
• Experience influencing senior stakeholders and shaping technical roadmaps through data-backed recommendations.
• Ability to partner cross-functionally and lead technical organizations.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages, such as Python, Golang, or Rust.
• Ability to work in the Boston hybrid office or from the Seattle location.

Nice to have

• Experience with GCP, Airflow, and Docker.
• Experience building scalable data processing pipelines with Hadoop, Hive, SQL, or Spark.
• Familiarity with generative AI and agentic workflows.
• Experience with Bayesian learning, multi-armed bandits, or reinforcement learning.
