Advanced Data Science Associate Consultant (Generative AI and Machine Learning)

Location: South San Francisco, California, United States; hybrid work with regular work-from-home and on-site presence at client or hirify.global offices.

Salary: $140,000–$153,500 per year

What you will do

• Design, build, and deploy machine learning and generative AI models for complex business problems.
• Architect stateful multi-agent systems and workflows using frameworks such as LangGraph.
• Develop and productionize AI systems, including fine-tuned open-source LLMs, RAG pipelines, prompt-engineering solutions, and vector-database integrations.
• Lead research, experimentation, and implementation of novel generative AI techniques.
• Manage data science projects from conception and analysis through deployment and in-production monitoring.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and domain experts while mentoring associate team members.

Requirements

• PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field, or a master's degree with 3–5 years of relevant post-collegiate experience.
• Hands-on experience designing, building, and deploying generative AI applications, including fine-tuning, prompt engineering, agentic systems, RAG, and vector databases.
• Strong proficiency in Python and core data science libraries such as pandas and scikit-learn.
• Experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow and classical machine learning methods such as predictive modeling, time-series analysis, and classification.
• Prior leadership experience and the ability to collaborate across technical and business functions.
• Fluency in English and availability for hybrid work in South San Francisco, with travel required for client-facing work.

Nice to have

• Experience with LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, Hugging Face, or similar agent development kits.
• Familiarity with MCP tools, model quantization, inference optimization, and efficient large-model deployment.
• Experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, and their AI/ML services.
• Track record of applying data science to complex real-world problems.
